Exel Unveils New Innovations to Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Nordic Walking In 1997, Exel created an activity and product that significantly impacted the outdoor and recreational communities. The Nordic Walking success story began in Finland in 1997 with Exel’s introduction of the first Exel Nordic Walker® pole. The foundation of Exel technology is the unique Co-Winding process that utilizes computer automated procedure for manufacturing carbon composite poles. This unique technology produces seamless, multi-layered pole shafts of high structural quality. The highlights of the Exel Nordic Walking 2008 collection are the new Nordic Walker® Ultimate pole with NTech® shaft and the Exel Lock system with various tip alternatives.
Nordic Walker® UltimateThe new Nordic Walker® Ultimate is the new top pole model in the Exel Nordic Walking collection. It is designed for ultimate Nordic Walking and Nordic Running. The poles includes a 100% carbon Co-Wound NTech® shaft, which is 8-15 % lighter, 15-30 % stronger and more than 30 % stiffer when compared to Nordic Walker® Extreme shaft. The NTech® Combines integrated carbon nano particles with Exel Co-Wound production technology resulting in a higher standard of mechanical strength. Furthermore the poles feature an improved QLS grip and strap system with newly designed breathable QLS strap and ergonomically shaped QLS Cork grip. One click and the strap can be easily detached from the grip. Another click and it can be quickly reattached. The tip of the pole is equipped with a special suspension system and it gives a firm grip on all terrains while reducing impact. An additional asphalt paw is not needed. The new Nordic Walker® Ultimate is available in lengths 100 – 140 cm in 5 cm intervals. Various new alternative tips: All Terrain, Aero and Suspention tip The Exel All Terrain (AT) ATTip is a new Nordic Walking pole tip innovation from Exel. Since Nordic Walkers encounter various types of terrain, the tip is designed to provide consistent performance on an array of surfaces from smooth, rough, icy and sandy asphalt to grass, trails and beaches. With this simple, yet functional AT Tip design, users can select from two positions which is best suited for the surface. The injection molded tip combines POM, rubber and sharp carbide spike to provide the ultimate package of durability and performance. The AT Tip is equipped with the Exel Lock tip system which allows for easy removal and replacement. For 2008, the AT tip is available as a spare part, so upgrading new or exisiting Nordic Walking poles is easy The new Exel Aero Tip incorporates an aerodynamic shape reducing wind resistance during poling. The Aero Tips fluorescent material ensures high visibility and safety while Nordic Walking in low light conditions. The precise design of the metal tip offers maximum grip on all types of terrain from icy roads to hard packed trails. The Aero tip is equipped with the lock tip system to allow for easy removal and replacement. Additionally, Exel’s Control Asphalt paw can be easily placed over this tip for paved surfaces. For 2008, this new AT tip is also available as a spare part. Exel’s popular Suspension tip also includes the lock tip system and can easily be exchanged. The Suspension tip is equipped with a special suspension system and firm traction on all terrains including even winter conditions. An additional asphalt paw is not needed. Nordic Walkers preferring the Control Asphalt Paw, can easily place the paw directly on the pole shaft after removing the Suspension tip. Personalized Nordic Walker® poles In the 2008 Exel Nordic Walker® collection a reflective personalized name sticker is included with mid and high end pole models. The sticker is included in the clip holding of the poles and the placement of this reflective name sticker can be individually decided. Exel Nordic Walking 2008 collection pays special attention to colors and designs. Models Nordic Walker® Heritage, Nordic Walker® Vintage and Nordic Walker® Experience pay tribute to this, all with attractive design and colors. |
