    Another successful racing season for Alpina athletes

    For the all elite cross-country skiers and biathletes who are using Alpina boots is another successful racing season. The end is always related with the analysis of the results and the sum of the medals. 
    Cross-country skiers and biathletes have reached 40 ranking on the podium in total at the World Cup races. Cross-country skiers (both gender) achieved 29 medals in total: 13 gold, 4 silver and 12 bronze medals. In female category was the best athlete Stina Nilsson (SWE) with 9 wins. Nilsson ended the World Cup overall just behind the podium at 4th place. 
    Biathlon statistics of the World Cup racing season has given 11 medals in total. Most of them were 5 silver medals, 4 gold and one bronze medals. Gabriela Koukalova (CZE) has won all of the gold medals and most of remaining medals. Koukalova won the second place in World Cup overall in the season 2016/2017 and she is the most successful biathlete in the team Alpina.

    World Championships
    Lahti 2017
    World Championship in cross country skiing brought to Alpina Team 10 medals in total:  2 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. The most successful athlete was Charlotte Kalla (SWE) with silver medal in 10km in classic technique, bronze medal in skiathlon and silver medal in relay. Two medals went to Norwegians Finn Haagen Krogh (bronze in skiathlon, gold in relay) and Niklas Dyrhaug (bronze in 10km classic, gold in relay). 

    Alexander Bessmertnykh (RUS) and Stina Nilsson (SWE) were silver in Relay. Marcus Hellner and Johan Olsson (SWE) were bronze also in Relay. Natalia Matveeva (RUS) won a silver medal in Team Sprint.

    In the biathlon World Championship, the athletes who have been competing with Alpina boots, achieved 6 medals in total: 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Amazing Gabriela Koukalova received all set of medals: gold in sprint, silver in 15km individual and bronze in pursuit. Ondrej Moravec (CZE) won a silver in 20km individual.

    Alexey Volkov won a gold medal with Russian Relay, Dominik Landertinger won a bronze medal with Austrian Relay.

    Koukalova 2nd in the last race of the season and with 2nd crystal globe

    Holmenkollen, Quebec - Gabriela Koukalova (CZE) finished her world cup season on the second place in mass start competition with one mistake on shooting. Koukalova also got the second small crystal globe. "Its one of the best seasons of my life. I'm very glad to work with the people around the team and within the team. I have to say big thanks to all this people. I hope this is a good gift for them", she said after the race. 

    Today was also the last competition for cross-country skiers. Stina Nilsson (SWE) finished 10 kilometres pursuit race in 3rd place, Niklas Dyrhaug (Nor) has fought till the finish line for the victory with Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo (NOR) and Alex Harvey (CAN). At the end Dyrhaug was only 0,1 second behind the winner. 

    Congrats to all for a great world cup season!

    Oslo, Quebec - Gabriela Koukalova (CZE) has done today a good job at the pursuit race in Holmenkollen. She ended in 2nd place without any mistake in shooting. She commented she focused only on shooting and skiing and not to thinking about the result. Teja Gregorin (SLO) who started the pursuit from 8th position, crossed the finish line at great 4th place despite one mistake on shooting.

    Crosscountry skiers were continuing the world cup races with mass start in classic technique. Niklas Dyrhaug (NOR) who ended 15km long competition at 2nd place, commented after the race: "I wanted to go for a long sprint to see if I can go for victory. It was not enough".  Alexander Bessmertnykh (RUS) ended the finish sprint with Dyrhaug at 3rd place, and said: "It was a fun race. There was a lot of things happening all the time. I followed Niklas and Johannes on the last climb. We gained a small gap. I managed to ski well the last curve before the homestretch and carried in good speed".

    Tomorrow is the last day of world cup competitions for both, biathletes and crosscountry skiers. Biathletes will finish the season with the mass start, cross-country skiers with pursuit race in free technique.
