After skiing, biking, running, paddling and sprinting in temperatures that would soar into the 90s, Marshall Greene secured the elite men’s title in Saturday’s U.S. Bank Pole Pedal Paddle. Alpina/XCOregon teammate, Brayton Osgood, was 4th.
The victory was his third consecutive in the annual multisport race from Mount Bachelor to Bend.
His time was 1 hour, 45 minutes, 4 seconds.

U.S. National Pursuit Championships
Morgan Arritola (Alpina boots) added to her Pursuit silver, with a silver in the U.S. Nationals Women's 30km classic. USST teammate, Liz Stephen (OneWay poles), also repeated her Friday win.
In the men's 50km classic, sprint specialist?! Torin Koos (Exel poles) closed an over-two minute gap to come within 5 seconds of a win. Koos was 2nd. Alpina skiers Colin Rodgers and Kris Freeman were 4th and 6th American respectively.

U.S. National 30km & 50km Classic
Travelling USST teammates, Liz Stephen (OneWay poles) and Morgan Arritola (Alpina boots) made it 1-2 in the Women's 15km Pursuit race. In the Men's 30km Pursuit, it was Alpina's Leif Zimmermann at the top, and Exel's Torin Koos two steps down in 3rd place.

World Cup Globes for Bauer and Majdic
Alpina skiers finished victorious for the 2007/8 season.
Lukas Bauer (CZE) won Overall and Distance World Cup.
Petra Majdic (SLO)won Sprint World Cup, the first globe for the cross country team of Slovenia, and took 5th place Overall.
Astrid Jacobsen (NOR) took 2nd place Overall and Sprint and 4th in Distance overall.
Justyna Kowalczyk (POL)took 3rd place Overall and Distance.
Tord Asle Gjerdalen (NOR) took 4th place Overall.
Ville Noussiainen (FIN)took 17th, Anna Hansson (SWE)19th, Madoka Natsumi (JPN)27th, Vibeke Skofterud (NOR)29th and Boerre Naess (NOR)30th place Overall.

Alpina's Junior Red Boot Crew members have been hitting the podium this week, at the US Junior National Championships.
New England's Tara Geraghty-Moats won the J2 girls 5km skate race.
New England's wax coach, Alpina's Jon Arne Enevoldsen, manned the klister table during the classic sprints, for 7 hours.

New York State 25km Champion
Battling bitter temperatures and blustery conditions, fifty-five of the best skiers in New York State faced off in the annual NYSSRA Champions Cup Race , sponsored by High Peaks Cyclery.
Robert Duncan Douglas of Honeoye Falls dominated the 25 km New York State Championship race on the Olympic trails of Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, winning by almost four minutes.
